One of the largest Further Education Colleges in the country, Derby College currently has over 20,500 students and 1,500 staff. It offers a wide range of vocational and academic courses to learners of all ages and abilities.
Derby Colleges’ regeneration scheme has involved the renovation and modernisation of an 1839 grade II listed steam engine repair building in the centre of Derby. This imaginative project has already been recognised as one of the top 20 conservation schemes in the country. The new flagship campus opened to students in autumn 2009.
The Contract
The contract, which will initially run for five years, has seen Capita IT Services design, implement and maintain a new future-proof, scaleable LAN infrastructure and wireless network based on Cisco technology, which will form the backbone of Derby’s stunning new flagship ‘Roundhouse’ campus.
